Protocol Analysis as a Task for Artificial Intelligence

چکیده

We are attempting to automate protocol analysis, which is a form of data analysis in psychology for inferr ing the information processes used by a human from his verbal behavior while solving a problem. The paper discusses protocol analysis as a task in a r t i f i c i a l In te l ligence. The discussion is based on (but broader than) our current program, PAS-I, which creates a description of a subject's changing knowledge state from his verbal behavior.
